Perla Ferrar met Slash at a Guns N’ Roses afterparty in Las Vegas in 1992 via a common friend, according to a 2011 interview with Life Above 11. The couple got married in October 2001 in Hawaii but had a highly public divorce in 2014.
Ferrar’s Influence On Slash’s Career
Ferrar and Slash had two sons, London Emilio and Cash Anthony, whom they reportedly encouraged to have musical careers, their mother told Life Above 11.
In addition to their children’s, Ferrar also had an influence on her ex-husband’s music during their 13-year marriage, according to her appearance on the Left Unsupervised podcast in 2018; she dealt with his business and pushed him to reunite with Guns N’ Roses long before he reconnected with Axl Rose in 2015.
The Couple’s Eventual Split
Still, the couple got close to a breakup for the first time in 2010 due to irreconcilable differences until Slash withdrew his divorce petition two months later (per Loudwire). The guitarist announced their decision to renew vows on social media at the time.
In December 2014, Slash filed for divorce again, and the split became official after a lengthy process. The guitarist accused Ferrar of bigamy a couple of years later because her previous marriage to Carlos Marty wasn’t properly dissolved, Daily Mail wrote.
As Ferrar denied claims in a statement to Classic Rock, the court soon ruled in her favor, awarding her spousal and child support.
Page Six explained that the divorce settlement in 2018 required Slash to pay Ferrar $6.6 million, $100,000 per month in spousal support, and $39,000 per month in child support. Ferrar was also entitled to 1.8% of Slash’s income until 2036. Slash kept his $1.92 million guitar collection.
Ferrar’s Post-Divorce Life
Ferrar hosted a divorce party in October 2018, where her son London performed with his band, according to Blabbermouth. She later also attended London’s performance as Slash’s opening act at the Hollywood Palladium, which she was originally vetoed from.
These days, Ferrar continues to share her support for her children on social media, though the YouTube channel she started in 2014 no longer seems to be active.
