Rob Halford recently addressed Sebastian Bach’s abrupt departure from an interview on The SDR Show. The hosts had made an explicit joke about the Judas Priest frontman’s sexuality. The incident highlighted Bach’s loyalty to his longtime friend while showcasing Halford’s gracious response to the crude humor.
“Let me say three things. Three things,” Halford said in a separate interview. “I did a Zoom with Sebastian the other day and it was typical Sebastian. He couldn’t get the zoom to work. He had that thing where you put your face right up against the camera and you’re looking up his nostril. He’s screaming at his wife and he’s screaming at his kids. It’s completing at a pandemonium and we’re trying to make it connect. It did connect.”
“We had a great conversation because I’ve known him forever,” Halford continued. “He is a terrific guy. He’s so much fun.” Halford emphasized their long-standing friendship. “The second thing is, I don’t go gargle, I swallow. The third thing is I’ve always wanted to be roasted. I’ve always wanted to be roasted at a comic roast.”
Fans online praised Halford’s reaction, with many saying he handled the situation perfectly by turning an uncomfortable moment into something funny. Others also continued supporting Bach for refusing to let the interview become disrespectful toward one of heavy metal’s biggest legends.
The incident also highlighted the long friendship between Halford and Bach. Despite the awkward controversy, Halford made it clear there are no hard feelings, and he appreciated Bach’s personality and loyalty.
The exchange demonstrated how Halford defused the tension with humor. He praised Bach’s fierce defense of their friendship during the original interview.
