Shinedown guitarist Zach Myers discussed Creed and Nickelback’s commercial resilience in a recent interview with 101 WRIF. His comments emphasized how mockery attempts have failed to diminish these bands’ ongoing success.
“They were crushing and they’re back to crushing again. It’s so funny to me that people tried to make fun of these bands and it backfired on them so hard,” Myers stated. “They sell out every show.”
“They tried to make fun of Creed and then they tried to make fun of Nickelback and now they’re the biggest rock bands there are again,” he continued. “And I love that. And honestly, it couldn’t happen to better people. Every single person in Creed is the nicest guy. Every single person in Nickelback is the nicest guys. They’re all great.”
The bands’ remarkable commercial achievements and continued influence in the rock music scene support Myers’ defense.
Nickelback’s Commercial Dominance

Data from Loudwire revealed Nickelback’s ‘All the Right Reasons’ album sold over 18 million copies worldwide. The record earned diamond certification for U.S. sales in 2017.
Stats Significant documented the band’s total album sales exceeding 50 million units globally. This achievement ranks them as the 101st most successful music act of all time.
Shinedown’s Current Trajectory

Blabbermouth reported that Shinedown is developing their eighth studio album. Myers remains active with his own band while supporting his fellow musicians.
The band released singles ‘Three Six Five’ and ‘Dance, Kid, Dance’ to showcase their evolving sound. ‘Dance, Kid, Dance’ became their 20th No. 1 hit on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart, strengthening their position in rock music.
