Skid Row drummer Rob Hammersmith discussed the recurring topic of former vocalist Sebastian Bach in an interview with Chuck Shute. He addressed the band’s approach to questions about their former frontman during interviews.
“I think in a situation like that it’s almost like, ‘Does it add fuel to the fire?’ I don’t know. We don’t take the issue that serious until it’s forced upon us,” Hammersmith explained. “I don’t know if that’s for me. I think it doesn’t occur to me to say that.”
“I just feel like the topic has been covered. It’s been covered many many times. It’s been covered consistently in all honesty,” he continued. “Sometimes it surprises me that people continue to bring it up in situations. We should do that [ask interviewers remove questions about Sebastian Bach]. But for us it seems like a non-issue until somebody else makes it an issue.”
“From a fan perspective in a lot of we appreciate and we admire people’s passion and enthusiasm,” Hammersmith added. “But often times, the issue doesn’t bring out the best in people’s bedside manners. And that’s when it gets a little weird.”
The drummer’s comments highlight the enduring interest in the band’s relationship with their former frontman. This topic has maintained its relevance in the rock music community for over two decades.
