Mike Shinoda recently answered fan questions on Discord about Linkin Park’s setlist choices. A fan shared a screenshot from the session, where Shinoda acknowledged the challenge of picking songs for live shows. “We are in the fortunate position of having too many songs to play,” he wrote.
He also shared a preference for newer material, stating, “New songs > old songs, right now at least.” Addressing concerns about the band’s motivation, he clarified, “Not marketing. Band loves the new stuff + it’s Emily’s voice.”
When asked why they haven’t performed songs from One More Light, Shinoda replied, “No reason, other than ‘we all like the songs we’re playing, and we’ll get around to other songs at some point.’”

The Legacy of ‘Meteora’

While their 2024 album From Zero achieved major success, ‘Meteora’—their 22-year-old classic—recently reclaimed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hard Rock Albums chart after 334 weeks.
Currently, the band’s setlist includes fan favorites like ‘Given Up,’ ‘Papercut,’ ‘Numb,’ ‘In The End,’ and ‘Faint.’ It seems likely that ‘One More Light’ tracks will be played in time.
