John Torra has announced his departure from Fire ‘N Ice, the band he founded three years ago, telling fans that recent changes in his life and the direction of his musical career have led to the decision. He shared the news in a personal message posted on Instagram.
Torra explained that Quiet Riot is now his main musical priority and that he needs to give his focus to this next chapter of his career. He said goodbye to his bandmates in Fire ‘N Ice and thanked the band’s support team and fans for their loyalty.
“A personal message to my friends, fans, and family,” Torra wrote. “With a heavy heart, I want to share that, due to recent changes in my life and the direction of my musical career, I will be stepping down from Fire ‘N Ice, the band I founded three years ago.”
“This has been one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make. Fire ‘N Ice was more than a band to me; it was a dream I brought to life, a piece of my heart, and a chapter of my life I will forever cherish. Walking away from something I built from the ground up is heartbreaking, but sometimes life requires us to make difficult decisions to move forward.”
Torra thanked his bandmates Marc Spyder, Sparrow, and Mike Gemini for their time together. “To my brothers Marc Spyder, Sparrow, and Mike Gemini, thank you for being part of this incredible journey. You’re more than bandmates; you’re family, and I love you all dearly. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built together, and I’m happy to know you’ll be carrying the torch forward. The baton is now in your hands, and I’ll always be rooting for you.”
He also acknowledged the band’s crew. “A special thank-you to Liam, our photographer, and Sammy, our merch girl and designer, for your unwavering loyalty, dedication, and for always going above and beyond to take care of this band and all of us. You’ve been an invaluable part of the Fire ‘N Ice family, and I’ll forever be grateful for everything you’ve done.”
“As much as I love Fire ‘N Ice, Quiet Riot is my main musical priority, and I owe it to myself and my bandmates to give this next chapter of my career the time and dedication it deserves,” he continued.
Torra expressed gratitude to the fans who have supported Fire ‘N Ice. “To all our amazing fans, especially in New Jersey, thank you for believing in us, standing by us through thick and thin, and making this journey so special. Your love and support have meant more to me than words can express. I sincerely hope you’ll continue supporting Fire ‘N Ice as the guys move forward.”
He announced that his final performance with Fire ‘N Ice will take place on December 4 at Dingbatz alongside Spread Eagle. “For anyone who would like to see me perform with the band one last time, my final show with Fire ‘N Ice will be December 4 at Dingbatz alongside Spread Eagle. I would love to see you all there and make it a night to remember.”
Torra made the announcement as he shifts his focus to his work with Quiet Riot.
Torra’s commitment to Quiet Riot represents a significant shift in his career. He joined the band as lead vocalist on September 21, 2026, following the departure of longtime Quiet Riot vocalist Jizzy Pearl in July 2026. The band held open auditions for a new lead vocalist and selected Torra from more than 700 applicants after he won an online audition on Instagram.
Torra has begun touring with Quiet Riot, performing on the band’s Fall 2026 US tour and scheduled shows in the US and Latin America in 2027. His first show with the band took place on October 1 in West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma. During the audition process, departing Quiet Riot vocalist Pearl had alleged that Torra’s videos may have been enhanced with artificial intelligence, but Pearl later retracted the allegation and issued an apology.
Before joining Quiet Riot, Torra built his music career in the heavy metal scene. He started in 2023 as rhythm guitarist for Conquer At Will, a band from Mahopac, New York. He then moved to New Jersey to join Fire ‘N Ice as vocalist and guitarist. The band released the EP Hypnotized in 2024 and the album High Roller in late 2025.
Torra’s decision to step down from Fire ‘N Ice comes after the band had undergone its own lineup changes. In January 2026, Fire ‘N Ice announced the departure of guitarist Shane Chester and quickly brought in new guitarist Sparrow to fill the role.
