The post included a photograph of Kelly with her father and an old birthday card from him. In her caption, she wrote about how birthdays serve as a reminder of his influence on her life and expressed her longing to spend another moment with him.

“Birthdays are a reminder of the life you gave me, Daddy,” Kelly Osbourne wrote. “I wish you were still here to celebrate it with me. Every candle I blow out carries the same wish… Just one more moment with you.”

The post marked Kelly Osbourne’s birthday and her continued reflection on her relationship with her father.

Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22, 2025, at age 76 from a heart attack, with other factors including Parkinson’s disease and coronary artery disease contributing to his death. He had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2020 and had announced plans to retire from touring in 2023, though he performed with the original Black Sabbath lineup weeks before his death.

Kelly has shared her grief publicly in the months following her father’s death. Two days after he died, she posted lyrics from his 1972 song “Changes” on social media. On August 5, 2025, she opened up in detail on her Instagram Story, writing that she had tried to find the right words to express her thanks for the support she received during what she called “the hardest moment of my life.”

On Father’s Day in 2025, Kelly wrote that she still found herself looking for her father in ordinary moments and that “the ache of missing you is the price of loving you, and I would pay it forever rather than have never been your child at all.” In June 2026, nearly a year after his death, Kelly told Us Weekly that she was getting better every day, though she acknowledged that the pain would never fully disappear and that she would never be the same person she was before.
