Lzzy Hale attended a special gathering honoring Aerosmith and shared how the band’s music shaped her development as a rock musician. She posted on Instagram about the event and her deep connection to the legendary group.
Hale described how her parents introduced her to Aerosmith during her childhood, and she and her peers attempted to replicate the band’s musical style as kids. The influence of Aerosmith on her early work is evident in her band’s 1998 independent release. Hale also acknowledged the distinct artistry of each band member and their impact on her career.
“Aerosmith and friends. What a beautiful gathering of like-minded souls,” Hale wrote. “Providing a safe haven for the weirdos, the strange girls, the Mz Hydes, the freaks, the downtrodden — the power of music, love and light that comes with celebrating your true self.”
“I remember my parents introducing me to Aerosmith when I was a kid,” she continued. “We tried to mimic their magic as kids. You can deep dive into our early years with our second independent release from 1998, Don’t Mess With the Time Man, and clearly hear their influence.”
“As a young lady drawn like a moth to the eternal flame, I discovered the incomparable voice of Steven Tyler and his lyrical chaos, the guitar prowess of Joe Perry, the pure adventure of Brad Whitford’s arrangements and songwriting, and the unmistakable swagger of Joey Kramer,” Hale added.
“Without Aerosmith, I would not be the rocker I am today,” she said.
Hale also thanked Phil X for inviting her to the event. “I am so grateful to my friend and ally in this business, Phil X, for calling me to be part of this event. And I want to offer my whole black-hearted thanks to all the amazing fans for having me!”
The event was the California Dream On: Aerosmith & Friends concerts at the Hollywood Bowl. Hale performed on November 1, 2026, as part of this celebration honoring Aerosmith’s history, live performance, and legacy. All five original members of Aerosmith performed for the first time since 2020.
The band had returned to the stage after Tyler, the frontman, recovered from a vocal cord injury that forced Aerosmith to cancel its farewell tour. The musical director for the event was Don Was on bass, supported by guitarists Phil X and Audley Freed, Adam Wakeman on keyboards, and drummer Kenny Aronoff.
Hale performs as the lead singer of Halestorm, a quartet that has achieved major success in rock music. The band won a GRAMMY in 2012 for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance for “Love Bites (So Do I),” making Hale the first female to earn a GRAMMY in that category.
