Draven Bennington, the daughter of the late Chester Bennington, made a bold statement on social media following her recent reveal that she is a trans woman. After sharing her journey of transitioning, she confronted the hate in a new Instagram post.
Draven thanked her family and friends for their support and shared a message directly aimed at those who criticized her. “To the bigots, I hope you learn the valuable lesson of love. Until then I wish every time you turn off the lights and walk to bed that you step on a Lego.”
She added, “It’s clear that you are filled with ignorance and hatred and I hope one day you find your way out. You can try all you want to tear us down but we will just stand up taller and more proud! If me living my best life makes your mad, I hope it gets under your skin… actually I LOVE that it gets under your skin!”
In the same post, she answered some frequently asked questions, explaining that she would keep the name Draven because of its androgynous appeal and shared her preference for she/her pronouns. She also opened up about her bisexual/pansexual identity, saying she hadn’t fully decided where she fits on the spectrum yet.

Coming Out and Finding Love for Herself
Draven made the announcement on Valentine’s Day, revealing she began transitioning last year. She admitted how for a long time, she had tried to live as someone she wasn’t, but ultimately chose happiness over conformity. “I came out as transgender and started hormone replacement therapy, and it has been the best decision I’ve ever made,” she shared.
Sharing gratitude for the support she’s received, Draven continued, “With all the love and support I’ve received, I’ve finally found the strength to love myself. That’s why I’m done hiding. Love is love. Happy Valentine’s Day.”
Her mother, Samantha Bennington, showed her love with a simple “Love you,” followed by three hearts. She also shared how proud she was of Draven, offering her full love and support.
