As of 2025, Asheim’s net worth is estimated at $2 million. His income sources include:

  • Album sales and royalties from his work with Deicide and side projects.
  • Touring revenue, including the band’s 2024 European tour and festival performances.
  • Equipment endorsements with brands like Pearl, Paiste, Vater, and Axis.
  • Merchandise sales and licensing deals.

Asheim has been Deicide’s primary songwriter. He even contributed guitar work on the album ‘Till Death Do Us Part.’ Outside of Deicide, he joined Council of the Fallen (later renamed Order of Ennead) in 2007, though this project has been inactive for several years.

Deicide continues to tour and release new music. Their latest album, ‘Banished by Sin’ (2024), was released through Reigning Phoenix Music. The band remains commercially active.

Steve Asheim’s Songwriting Controversy

Asheim’s songwriting contributions are a major part of Deicide’s success, but they also led to controversies. Former guitarist Jack Owen claimed that Asheim made small modifications to songs to secure writing credits.

He said, “I walked into practice and Steve had re-recorded it and changed notes here and there for three or four songs that I had. It was stupid at the time. But he’s, like, ‘Hey, I changed the notes so I get writing credit.’ And I’m, like, ‘That’s not how the songs go, though.’ And Glen’s, like, ‘It is now.’ So I literally walked out and ghosted them. [Laughs] Later on, it was like, ‘Hey, dude, you’re out.’”

These disputes led to Owen’s departure from the band.
