Papa Roach’s Jacoby Shaddix praised Ice Nine Kills’ live performance as unique among contemporary bands, speaking on Loudwire Nights. He said the band’s theatrical stage show stands apart from other modern acts.
Shaddix discussed what makes Ice Nine Kills’ shows special. He acknowledged the historical influence of Alice Cooper on theatrical rock while emphasizing that Ice Nine Kills delivers something distinctly different. The two bands are preparing to tour together.
“It’s cool when you go to a show and it’s not the same thing all night,” Shaddix said. “And it went over so well in Europe. It was like, ‘Okay, cool. This works. This is so good.'”
“And I mean, straight up, you guys are, there’s no other band that does it like you,” he continued. “I mean, Alice Cooper has a little bit of that from back in the day, but there’s no acts that bring, you know, what you guys are bringing to the stage.”
Ice Nine Kills’ Spencer Charnas responded to the praise with appreciation. “Thank you. I appreciate that,” Charnas said. “It’s going to be awesome. And we’ve got some tricks up our sleeve. It’s going to be a great run.”
The remarks came during an interview as the bands prepare for their upcoming tour together. Charnas hinted that audiences can expect additional surprises beyond what the band typically brings to the stage.
Ice Nine Kills and Shaddix have previously worked together on “Hip To Be Scared,” a track from the band’s 2021 album Welcome to Horrorwood: The Silver Scream 2. The band has built a reputation for its cinematic live shows and horror-themed music, creating a devoted fan community known as the “Psychos.” Reviewers describe their performances as a theatre production with catchy metal music mixed in, closer to a haunted house than a typical concert.
The band has toured with major acts, including Slipknot, and was handpicked by Metallica for the M72 World Tour. Ice Nine Kills announced their largest headlining show on March 28, 2027, at London’s O2 Arena, which serves as the U.K. stop on their “March in Silence” tour.
Papa Roach and Ice Nine Kills announced a 30-date U.S. leg of the Rise Of The Roach Tour for 2027. The itinerary begins May 11 in Biloxi, Mississippi, and reaches major markets including Miami, Brooklyn, Boston, Chicago, Austin, Phoenix, and Las Vegas before wrapping June 27 in Auburn, Washington.
