The statement focused on the release date of the new album and the history behind their first-ever full-length studio collaboration.

“Something big is on the horizon,” Joe Satriani said. “‘The Sea of Emotion,’ the first studio album from SATCHVAI, arrives November 6.”

He also highlighted their decades-long friendship and encouraged fans to check out the new single.

“Evolving from a friendship that began back in 1973, the album brings Joe Satriani and Steve Vai together for their first-ever full-length studio collaboration,” Satriani continued. “You can stream the latest single from the album, ‘Mayhem,’ now! Give the track a listen and pre-order The Sea of Emotion ahead of its November 6 release.”

The album is scheduled for release on November 6, 2026, via earMUSIC. The announcement marks a major milestone for two of rock’s most celebrated guitarists, whose partnership has been decades in the making.

The album follows a friendship that began in 1973, when the two guitarists first met as teenagers and began a musical connection that would later shape much of their careers.

That shared history has already included major live pairings. The new record builds on decades of collaboration that included the G3 touring concept, where Satriani and Vai helped define the all-star guitar format for live audiences.

The album’s tracklist shows that “Mayhem” opens a 10-song set that also includes “Bronco Freight Train,” “Dancing,” “The Feeling I Know,” and “The Sea of Emotion” parts 1 through 3. The project also includes the earlier singles “Dancing” and “I Wanna Play My Guitar,” both of which arrived before the full album announcement.

There is also a notable guest credit on the release. “I Wanna Play My Guitar” features Glenn Hughes, adding another veteran rock voice to the SATCHVAI lineup.

The project now stands as a rare full-album pairing from two of rock’s most celebrated guitarists, with “Mayhem” setting the tone for a release that fans have been waiting decades to hear.
