Lzzy Hale Confirms That Halestorm Is Working On A New Album

In a recent chat with Liv Maddix of the 105.7 The Point radio station, Lzzy Hale said the recording of their new album is halfway done, and they hope to finish by the end of the year.

“Well, this has been an interesting process for us — very new,” the singer said before talking about their experience of working with a new producer, Dave Cobb.  “Doing it with Dave Cobb, who is a closet metalhead, but he’s gotten his due from Chris Stapleton and Brandi Carlile. But he’s got such a great sense.”

Hale went on to reflect on the songwriting process, “Well, the beautiful thing about [having a break in the recording], too, is that even just now on this tour, I am, for better or worse, kind of a sponge, and I am absorbing all of these experiences and seeing how they’re actually fitting into the record.”

She continued,  “So I’m drafting and redrafting as we’re going, just so I can get back in the studio and be, like, ‘But wait. What about this?’ Because that’s actually what the experience called for. So, yeah, it’s very interesting, but we’ve been taking our time with it because we’ve been having fun doing that.”

“‘Cause, as is tradition with all of these other records, we’re like, ‘Okay, we have this amount of songs. All right. When can we get in? We’re gonna go in for a month. We’re gonna bang it out, do the touring thing all over again.’ So it’s kind of nice,” the rocker added.

Last month, Halestorm drummer Arejay Hale told The Vortx Podcast when fans might hear new music from the band, “I’m hoping next year… We always say the same thing. It’s, like, it’ll be out when we’re done with it [laughs] and the whole process after it — getting it mixed, getting it mastered, getting the promotion campaign together and all that. There’s a lot to it. But the experience has been great ’cause we’re doing it in Savannah with Dave Cobb, and Dave Cobb is absolutely killing the game right now.”

In June, Halestorm put out a new song with I Prevail called ‘Can U See Me in the Dark?’ before their summer tour together. The tour started on July 9 in Raleigh and ended on August 17 in Las Vegas. Hollywood Undead and Fit For A King supported the two acts.
