James Harvey IV was best known for his time as the bassist for Goatwhore. He played with Driven By Suffering, Ritual Killer, and Psychon Vex before joining the band in 2009. His contributions were featured on three Goatwhore albums: ‘Blood for the Master’ (2012), ‘Constricting Rage of the Merciless’ (2014), and ‘Vengeful Ascension’ (2017). Harvey passed away in his sleep on July 26, 2023, at just 35 years old. According to his sister Rachel, he was healthy at the time of his passing. The statement read: “It is with a broken heart that I announce the passing of my big brother James E Harvey IV. He died peacefully in his sleep on July 26 as an otherwise healthy 35-year-old. He lived an epic life and we will carry on his legacy. Our focus is on family unity and supporting Lorrena, Jay, and Ollie.”
Who Inherited James Harvey’s Money?
Harvey is survived by his wife, Lorrena, and their two sons, Charlie and Jay. In the wake of his passing, a GoFundMe campaign was set up to support his family. The fundraiser aimed to raise $50,000 for memorial expenses and his children’s education, with $54,000 collected now. His estate and remaining assets were inherited by his wife and children.
Despite stepping back from touring in 2014 to focus on family life, Harvey remained involved in Goatwhore’s studio work until his official departure in 2017.
