Dennis Dunaway, the original Alice Cooper bassist, has revealed details about the band’s upcoming album ‘The Revenge of Alice Cooper’ in an interview with Metal Matt on YouTube. The reunion project has been in development for over two years. This marks a significant return of the original lineup.
“Well, it was a step-by-step process. I mean we would get together with Alice for his fundraisers. Then we would submit songs for Alice’s solo albums and get together to record those,” Dunaway explained. “And then I wrote my book. I think that kind of helped bring people together.”
“I get a call like a couple years ago from Alice and Bob Ezrin,” he continued. “They’re like, ‘Hey Dan, we’ve been out in Phoenix.’ Alice was out in Phoenix and Neil and Michael were there and they were getting together and kicking around ideas for the fun of it. And then they said, ‘Well, we were thinking. Do you want to do an album?’ I said, ‘Well hello! What do you think I’ve been saying for 51 years now?'”
The band has shared several collaborative moments over the years. These include their 2011 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction performance.
This landmark reunion signifies more than a casual collaboration. It represents a significant milestone in the band’s history with several noteworthy developments.
Album Details And Release Date

Consequence revealed that ‘The Revenge of Alice Cooper’ will release on July 25, 2025. This marks their first album together in 51 years. The project reunites the complete surviving lineup: Alice Cooper, Michael Bruce on guitar, Dennis Dunaway on bass, and Neal Smith on drums.
Legendary producer Bob Ezrin has taken charge of the album’s production. Ezrin previously helmed the band’s classic 1970s recordings. The album features 14 primary tracks and includes two bonus songs. One of these is a 2025 remix of ‘Return of the Spiders.’
Special Collaborations

AXS TV shared details about the album’s lead single ‘Black Mamba.’ The track features a special guest appearance by The Doors’ guitarist Robby Krieger. Cooper premiered the song on his syndicated radio show.
Krieger’s collaboration adds a new dimension of classic rock credibility to the project. This partnership bridges different eras of rock history within a single recording.
Band Chemistry And History

People Magazine highlighted the unique nature of this reunion. The band members maintained friendly connections throughout the years, setting them apart from typical rock band breakups.
Cooper noted the natural feeling of working with the original members again. The chemistry remains unchanged since their last album, ‘Muscle of Love,’ in 1973. This seamless collaboration suggests fans can expect the return of their signature sound.
