In a statement posted on Instagram, the band wrote: “We’re excited to announce that we have officially welcomed our new vocalist into the band! He will make his live debut with us this October, and we’ll be revealing his identity very soon.”

Until then, longtime friend Jason McMaster of Watchtower and Dangerous Toys will step in on vocals for two upcoming shows: August 29 in Tower, MN, and September 5 in Uncasville, CT. The temporary arrangement gives fans a chance to see the band perform while it prepares to introduce its next permanent frontman.

The band also thanked McMaster for helping keep the two dates on the books. “We’re incredibly grateful to Jason for jumping in and helping us keep these shows on the books for our fans,” Quiet Riot added. “The next chapter has officially begun. Stay tuned. The big announcement is coming soon.”

The announcement follows Jizzy Pearl’s decision to leave Quiet Riot and provides new context for the band’s latest lineup change.

Pearl announced his departure in July after returning to the band in 2019, following an earlier stint from 2013 to 2016. Reports said he planned to focus on new creative projects and described the split as amicable.

Pearl also said he would continue honoring his existing commitments. The singer said he would “fulfill all scheduled dates within [his] contractual obligations.”

Quiet Riot’s next singer will join a long line of vocalists who have fronted the band since Kevin DuBrow’s death in 2007. The incoming vocalist is expected to become the group’s ninth different singer from that period, following notable names such as Paul Shortino, Scott Vokoun, Mark Huff, Keith St. John, Seann Nicols, James Durbin and Pearl.

McMaster brings his own history in the hard rock and metal scene to the temporary role. He is best known as the frontman of Watchtower and Dangerous Toys.

Quiet Riot has not yet revealed the new vocalist’s identity. The October debut will officially begin the band’s next era.
