Rainbow vocalist Ronnie Romero discussed the band’s future in a recent interview with Metal Express Radio. He addressed the possibilities of new Rainbow material and future performances with guitarist Ritchie Blackmore.
“I don’t think that [writing songs with Ritchie Blackmore] going to happen again because you know he is in a different path right now,” Romero stated. “He is playing with Blackmore’s Night.”
“I don’t think any other Rainbow show is going to happen,” he continued. “Obviously because of his health and his age. I don’t see him moving out of his comfort zone.”
Blackmore and his associated projects continue to evolve in different directions as Rainbow’s future remains uncertain.
Current Musical Direction

The official website of Blackmore’s Night revealed new tour dates for 2025. This announcement confirms Ritchie Blackmore’s dedication to his medieval-inspired ensemble.
Blackmore has established his artistic home within the renaissance-inspired sounds of Blackmore’s Night. This direction marks a clear shift from his hard rock origins.
New Developments

Blackmore’s Night vocalist Candice Night will release her solo album ‘Seaglass’ on April 25. The band’s website highlighted this project as part of their members’ expanding creative ventures.
This solo endeavor reinforces Blackmore’s commitment to his current musical path. The likelihood of his return to Rainbow’s heavy metal sound appears increasingly remote.
Rainbow’s Legacy

The band’s latest iteration with Ronnie Romero brought Rainbow’s classic material to a new generation of fans. This chapter proved both brief and significant in Rainbow’s history.
Romero’s recent statements seem to mark the conclusion of an era. The prospect of new Rainbow material or performances has become increasingly unlikely.
