Andy Fairweather Low shared insights about his touring experiences in a recent interview with Guitar World. The veteran guitarist compared the uncertainty of touring with Eric Clapton to his more stable time with Roger Waters.
“It wouldn’t be about the guitar, it would be about life. I’d tell myself to enjoy it more,” Low said, responding to a question about advice for his younger self. “When I worked with Eric Clapton, not so much with Roger, I thought I was getting fired every tour, because at the end of every tour, you never knew whether you were doing the next tour.”
“Whoever you were – and it didn’t matter who you were – you never knew because in truth, Eric never knew which way it was going to go, too,” he continued. “So, it would be, enjoy it for goodness’ sake and let it run its course!”
Low’s musical journey with both legendary artists has been marked by significant achievements. His collaborations have created lasting impacts in the industry.

Waters Collaboration

Low’s work with Roger Waters has earned equal recognition through different dynamics. His musical versatility shone during Waters’ ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ tour in 2007. He played a vital role in bringing the iconic album to life on stage.
His position in Waters’ touring band offered more stability than his time with Clapton. Both collaborations proved artistically rewarding despite their differences.
