Former Van Halen singer Sammy Hagar has cleared the air regarding media reports of low ticket sales for the July 2026 U.K. leg of his ‘The Best of All Worlds’ tour. He honestly admitted that while the U.K. venues had to be downsized to secure full crowds, the American dates are performing exceptionally well.

“Ha ha ha. This is true but of course a little off the mark for the real story,” Hagar said. “Yes the UK shows didn’t sell out immediately. But we got 19,000 Saturday night, 14,000 Sunday night, Detroit sold out, the American side is killing. Thank you everyone for the support. And the UK is gonna get five amazing concerts.”

The rock legend’s decision to reconfigure the UK itinerary reflects a strategic shift in how he approaches touring. Rather than playing large venues with sparse attendance, Hagar opted to move the shows to smaller, more intimate spaces. This creates a fuller atmosphere and delivers a better concert experience. This approach was inspired by the tremendous success of his recent Las Vegas residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM, where he performed and drew from his extensive catalog of over 400 songs written throughout his career.

Hagar’s philosophy on touring has evolved significantly. He wanted to avoid the situation where a large venue holds 12,000 capacity but only 6,000 people show up. Such sparse attendance creates a poor ambiance. The revised UK tour now features shows in Wolverhampton at the University of Wolverhampton Civic Hall on July 6, Manchester at the O2 Apollo Manchester on July 7, and a three-night residency in London at the British Airways ARC on July 9, 11, and 12. This multi-night format in London mirrors the successful residency model he has been perfecting in Las Vegas. It allows him to showcase a deeper, more varied setlist rather than the typical 14-song concert format with an opening act.

The decision to downsize venues demonstrates Hagar’s commitment to quality over quantity. He has been transparent about the initial miscalculation, acknowledging that he thought the original larger venues would sell out without issue. His willingness to adapt and restructure the tour shows his dedication to delivering an exceptional experience for fans. The American leg of ‘The Best of All Worlds’ tour has proven to be a commercial success, with strong ticket sales across multiple markets. This indicates that the tour concept resonates strongly with audiences stateside.

Hagar’s approach to touring in 2026 reflects a broader trend among veteran rock artists who are prioritizing intimate, residency-style performances over traditional large-scale arena tours. By moving to smaller venues and extending the London run into a multi-night stand, Hagar ensures that every seat in the house will be filled. This creates the kind of electric atmosphere that makes for memorable live performances. The UK dates represent a refined version of what has made his Las Vegas residency so successful. Sometimes less really is more when it comes to creating unforgettable concert experiences.
