Legendary rock band Rush announced a last-minute postponement of their June 24 concert at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. The performance has been rescheduled for July 2 due to unforeseen border and travel delays that blocked their touring production following recent dates in Mexico City.

The band released an official statement explaining the situation: “Due to unforeseen travel and border-related delays impacting our touring production following our recent Mexico City tour dates, tonight’s show in Fort Worth at Dickies Arena has been rescheduled for Thursday, July 2. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding given this circumstance out of our control.”

The postponement came as a shock to fans who had gathered for what was supposed to be part of Rush’s Fifty Something tour. All fans holding tickets for the original June 24 show will be able to use those same tickets for the rescheduled July 2 performance at Dickies Arena.

For those unable to attend the new date, refund options are available. Fans who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster can request refunds there. Those who bought tickets through other outlets should contact their original point of purchase for assistance.

The border-related delays appear to stem from complications involving the band’s touring production equipment and crew returning from Mexico. Such delays typically involve customs clearance, paperwork processing, permits, or travel documentation issues. These complications can significantly impact touring schedules, particularly when crossing international borders with large amounts of equipment and personnel.

This was not an isolated incident for Rush during this leg of their tour. The band’s shows in Oklahoma City and Lubbock were also affected by the same border-related complications. Those performances were canceled entirely rather than rescheduled, highlighting the severity of the logistical challenges.

Despite the disruptions, Rush expressed determination to continue their tour momentum. The band stated that the Fifty Something tour would resume as scheduled for all remaining dates following the Fort Worth rescheduling. Performances are set to continue starting Friday, June 26. This commitment to completing the tour despite the setbacks demonstrated the band’s dedication to their fans and their touring obligations.

The situation underscored the unpredictable nature of large-scale touring operations. Factors completely outside a band’s control can force last-minute changes that affect thousands of fans. Rush’s transparent communication about the circumstances and their efforts to accommodate ticket holders reflected an attempt to maintain goodwill with their audience during an unavoidable disruption.
