Former Arch Enemy vocalist Alissa White-Gluz excited fans by sharing new photos of her side project Blue Medusa jamming together in the studio, hinting that new music or upcoming plans could be in the works as she described the rehearsal sessions as “moments of magic.”
Blue Medusa is an extreme metal band formed by White-Gluz in 2026 following her exit from Arch Enemy. The all-female lineup features White-Gluz on vocals alongside guitarists Alyssa Day (Mindscar, Absentia) and Dani Sophia (ex-Till Lindemann), with bassist Alicia Vigil (DragonForce) and drummer Delaney Jaster (Stitched Up Heart) joining for live performances. The project has already released the single “Checkmate” and has been described by White-Gluz as her home for “very focused metal music.”
White-Gluz’s Instagram post sharing the studio pics had the caption: “Jammin! #BLUEMEDUSA Moments of magic.”
One fan commented: “I’ve been waiting for ten years! For Alissa to release the music she always wanted to create and I can’t believe its finally happening!”
Another fan said: “Yeah, we’re working on some new songs – let’s do this! It’s great to see the band jammin together for the first time. Have fun!”
Currently balancing Blue Medusa with her role as DragonForce’s frontwoman and work on her debut solo album, White-Gluz continues to expand her creative output across multiple projects.
