Darkbeat2K on YouTube has documented Mastodon’s first show without longtime guitarist Brent Hinds. The band made this transition just two days after announcing Hinds’ departure from the group.

Ben Eller, a popular metal YouTuber, took on guitar duties for the performance. The band has not yet announced whether Eller will become a permanent member. This change marks a significant shift for Mastodon after years of lineup stability.

The transition represents a crucial moment in Mastodon’s history as they continue their active touring schedule.

We’re deeply proud of and beyond grateful for the music and history we’ve shared and we wish him nothing but success and happiness in his future endeavors.”

The band reinforced their dedication to fans in the statement. They confirmed all 2025 touring plans will proceed as scheduled despite the lineup adjustment.
