Maynard James Keenan recently shared a message with fans as Tool wrapped up its tour for the year, offering both thanks and a glimpse at what’s coming next. In a post shared on Instagram, the frontman expressed appreciation for fans and crew members while teasing new activity with his other band, Puscifer.
“That’s a wrap on the Tool run,” Keenan said. “Thank you, Hawaii. Awesome as always. Been too long.” He followed up with praise for those who supported the tour behind the scenes and shifted focus to his next musical chapter. “THANK YOU to our amazing crew,” he said. “You all work harder than I do. We see it. Happy Holidays. Now I gotta go strap in for this new Puscifer release.”
The post officially closes out Tool’s current touring cycle while signaling renewed momentum for Puscifer. Keenan’s mention of a new release aligns with recent announcements surrounding the band’s upcoming album and future plans.
Puscifer is set to return with a new album titled Normal Isn’t, scheduled for release on February 6, 2026. The record marks another entry in Keenan’s wide-ranging catalog and reflects the distinctive, uncompromising sound that has defined the project led by the Tool and A Perfect Circle vocalist.
Insight into the making of Normal Isn’t highlights Keenan’s detailed and methodical creative process. Reports note that he assembled an extensive 80-song playlist as inspiration during the writing and recording sessions, underscoring the level of exploration and preparation behind the album.
Sonically, the record leans into strong ’80s alternative and goth influences, with Keenan describing the sound as “goth meets punk.” The inspiration behind the album includes artists such as The Cure, Bauhaus, and Depeche Mode, reflecting the new wave and goth textures that shape its overall aesthetic.
In support of Normal Isn’t, Puscifer has announced a Spring 2026 North American tour set to begin in March. The run will give fans a chance to hear the new material live and continues Keenan’s long-standing commitment to immersive and distinctive performances across his various musical projects.
