Queen drummer Roger Taylor has opened the door to the possibility of new tour dates for the legendary rock band. He emphasized that the final decision rests with guitarist Brian May. Taylor expressed his personal enthusiasm for returning to the live stage while acknowledging the complexity of mobilizing Queen’s massive touring operation.
“Well, it is a big machine to gear up, if you know what I mean,” Taylor explained. “But, yeah, really, I think it’s more down to Brian than me. I love playing live. I enjoy it, always have. It’s really how he feels about it. So if we both wanna do it, I’d be happy to. But we’ll see. Never say never.”
The drummer’s remarks suggest that while he remains eager to perform, the band’s return to touring hinges on May’s willingness to commit to such an undertaking. Taylor noted that Queen has been actively collaborating with vocalist Adam Lambert, who has been fronting the band in recent years. “We have been working for a while with Adam Lambert, who has the most incredible voice,” Taylor stated.
Taylor’s comments reflect the ongoing evolution of Queen as a touring entity. The band’s partnership with Lambert has proven successful in bringing Queen’s catalog to audiences worldwide. This allows the surviving members to continue performing their classic material while honoring the legacy of late frontman Freddie Mercury. The collaboration has demonstrated that Queen’s music remains as compelling to contemporary audiences as it was during the band’s original run.
The prospect of new tour dates would represent a significant undertaking for the band. It would require extensive planning and coordination across multiple continents. Queen’s touring history is marked by some of the most iconic live performances in rock history. Any return to the road would need to meet the high standards fans have come to expect from the legendary group.
