Sharon Osbourne has made it clear that she has not forgiven Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson for his past behavior toward Ozzy Osbourne. When a Black Sabbath fan recently asked Sharon if she had forgiven Dickinson, her response was pointed: “Oh, has he forgiven himself?”

Sharon elaborated on her long-standing grievance with the Iron Maiden singer. She stated that Dickinson was “so horribly disrespectful” to Ozzy. She emphasized the severity of his actions, saying: “If you’re going to take Ozzy’s money, and play before him every night of a festival, and you’re bad-mouthing him to the crowd, you’ve got to pay.”

The tension between Sharon Osbourne and Bruce Dickinson stems from a controversial incident. This incident became one of the most infamous moments in heavy metal festival history. The clash between the Osbourne family and Iron Maiden’s frontman has remained a topic of discussion in the rock community for nearly two decades.

The feud escalated during Ozzfest 2005 when Dickinson made negative remarks about Ozzy Osbourne and the festival while performing on stage, according to Ultimate Guitar. Sharon Osbourne, who helped run Ozzfest, felt deeply disrespected by these comments. She decided to take matters into her own hands.

In retaliation, she orchestrated an unusual response during Iron Maiden’s set at one of the festival shows. Sharon revealed the extent of her retaliation in her recent comments. She explained that she had Bruce Dickinson “pelted with cans of baked beans that were open, and cut his sound” during the performance. She justified her actions by stating that Dickinson’s behavior warranted consequences.

Reports from Loudwire indicate that the incident is sometimes described with varying details. Some accounts mention eggs being thrown at the band, though Sharon’s own account specifically references the baked beans incident.

Ozzy Osbourne was unaware of Bruce Dickinson’s on-stage remarks about him during the festival. Sharon kept the situation from her husband until the final show of the tour, when she decided to reveal what had transpired. When Sharon told Ozzy about the retaliation she had orchestrated, his response was simply: “You’re terrible.”

Despite Ozzy’s disapproval of her methods, Sharon maintained that her actions were justified. Dickinson’s disrespect warranted the response she had orchestrated. Sharon also noted that Ozzy has maintained respect for the other members of Iron Maiden. His relationship with Dickinson, however, remains strained.

This distinction suggests that the feud is primarily between Sharon and Bruce Dickinson. It is not a conflict between Ozzy and the entire band. The incident highlighted the protective nature of Sharon’s role in managing Ozzy’s career and reputation within the music industry.

The clash between the Osbourne family and Bruce Dickinson at Ozzfest 2005 became a defining moment in heavy metal festival history, as documented by Rockum. The incident demonstrated the tensions that can arise when artists feel disrespected at major industry events. It established a lasting divide between Sharon Osbourne and the Iron Maiden frontman.
