Linkin Park’s Dave Farrell Falls Into Drums After Emily Armstrong’s Push

During a recent live performance, Emily Armstrong of Linkin Park accidentally pushed bassist Dave Farrell, causing him to crash into the drums.

“Emily push you over?” guitarist Brad Delson asked Farrell in an Instagram video shared by the band. “Yeah, when I wanted to take a step back, the cymbal stand was there. I went into the drums,” Farrell explained.

“Drums?” Delson inquired. “Emily came into me,” Dave added. “I smashed into Emily,” Brad clarified. “Back into the drums,” Farrell continued. “I was on the ground at one point. I tried to make it look purposeful,” Delson explained further.

“We do all our own stunts,” Linkin Park captioned the video. The band is back with new singer Armstrong and drummer Colin Brittain.

“It’s really complicated,” Mike Shinoda recently shared with KROQ’s Kevan Kenney about the band’s new lineup. “For me, two years ago it was very overwhelming, and I think the best thing that we did was to just basically let things happen in the order and at the timeline that they were gonna happen, let things happen organically and not push too hard.”

Shinoda added, “And I feel like what ended up evolving was we just naturally kind of found each other, we found this new lineup, we found Emily and Colin in particular, and the music just kind of came into focus based on what we were having the most fun doing.”

When the host mentioned that their new album ‘From Zero’ ‘sounds like a return to roots,’ Shinoda responded, “I love that there’s such a strong Linkin Park DNA in the record. It does really feel like Linkin Park, but I think there’s a part of it that’s the old sound and part of that’s every era of the band, to me, on the record.”

‘From Zero’ was released on November 15, 2024. Earlier this month, Linkin Park also announced a world tour across North America, Europe, Asia, and South America. The tour will begin in January with three shows in Mexico, then move to Japan and Jakarta, Indonesia. In the spring and summer, they will play in several U.S. cities, with the tour concluding in November in South America.
