Noah Weiland, the son of the late Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland, recently criticized the Warped Tour lineup in a video message shared on Instagram.

The video focused on Weiland’s criticism of the festival’s lineup and his belief that the current performers do not represent what the younger generation wants to hear.

“Here’s the thing about Warped Tour,” Weiland said. “Everybody that plays on that shit, like, I don’t got no beef with y’all or no smoke with y’all. Y’all are probably great people, but your music is ass and you need to step it the f*ck up and know what the youth and the new generation wants.”

He then discussed his upcoming music and how he believes it compares to the festival’s current roster.

“Because I actually do know what they want, and I have a f*cking 22-track album called Crash Out Junkie that is dropping in, like, a week or two, and I’m gonna f*cking merc everyone on that whole festival lineup,” he continued.

Weiland concluded by addressing the older musicians on the lineup and reiterating his stance on the festival.

“I mean, like, obviously there’s a lot of old heads that be playing that shit too, and I personally think that, you know, they did their thing, their classics or whatever, but I ain’t really f*cking with Warped Tour,” Weiland added. “That’s all I gotta say. So thank you guys.”

Weiland’s comments connect his upcoming release to a broader debate about the balance between legacy acts and newer artists on Warped Tour.

Scott Weiland co-founded Stone Temple Pilots in 1989 and served as the band’s lead vocalist during its most successful periods. He later fronted Velvet Revolver, further establishing himself as one of the prominent singers of the alternative rock era.

Scott Weiland died on December 3, 2015, at the age of 48. The singer was found dead on his tour bus in Minnesota while touring with his band The Wildabouts. His death was later ruled an accidental overdose.

Warped Tour began in 1995 as a traveling festival focused primarily on punk, alternative rock, and related genres. The festival’s 2026 revival features a mix of established punk, emo, pop-punk, and rock acts, including Jimmy Eat World, Flogging Molly, Third Eye Blind, Dance Gavin Dance, and New Found Glory.

Noah Weiland has continued developing his own career outside his father’s work. A coverage identifies him as an artist pursuing his own music, while his upcoming 22-track album Crash Out Junkie appears to be the project at the center of his latest comments.
