Sebastian Bach says there is nothing strange about Twisted Sister playing Skid Row songs on their current tour. The singer compared the situation to Queen performing Bad Company material when Paul Rodgers fronted the band.
“Well, I mean, why not? I’m pretty sure when Paul Rodgers filled in for Freddie Mercury in Queen, I know they did a couple of Bad Company tunes,” Bach said.
“And it just makes sense because I kind of learned how to be Sebastian from locking myself in my bedroom and singing along to the two albums ‘Under The Blade’ and ‘You Can’t Stop Rock ‘N’ Roll’ — and ‘Stay Hungry’,” he added.
“But by ‘Stay Hungry’… My passion for Twisted is kind of before Atlantic Records got too involved. They did put out ‘You Can’t Stop Rock ‘N’ Roll’, but ‘You Can’t Stop Rock ‘N’ Roll’ is such a metal album; it’s a heavy metal album. And more so even is ‘Under The Blade’ — very, very metal. ‘Tear It Loose’, ‘Destroyer’ — I mean, you can’t mess with those kind of songs.”
“But I still like ‘Stay Hungry’. We’re doing a tune called ‘The Beast’, which is a deep cut that I love singing. It’s a really great melody.”
Bach, the former Skid Row singer, is currently touring with Twisted Sister as Dee Snider’s replacement for their reunion tour. He explained why he and the rest of the band’s current touring lineup decided to throw a couple of Skid Row songs, “I Remember You” and “Youth Gone Wild,” into the set.
The decision fits a long tradition in rock, where guest frontmen reach into their own catalogues to round out a setlist. Bach’s argument is simple: the songs he grew up on and the songs he made his name with belong together on the same stage.
Bach’s role with Twisted Sister came together earlier this year. The band announced in March 2026 that the former Skid Row vocalist would lead its upcoming tour, filling in for Dee Snider after he abruptly retired and resigned from the group due to health issues. In a statement shared at the time, the band’s camp said, “Twisted Sister members Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda are thrilled to announce that iconic vocalist and frontman Sebastian Bach will be fronting” the group.
The move followed a turbulent stretch for the band’s comeback plans. Twisted Sister announced another reunion in September 2025, but their planned tour dates were cancelled in February 2026 because of Snider’s health issues, which resulted in his departure from the band. The following month, it was confirmed that the group would continue with Bach on vocals.
Bach’s first appearance with the band came under their alter ego, Bent Brother. That debut set ran 17 songs and included the two Skid Row covers, “I Remember You” and “Youth Gone Wild.” The covers have stayed in the set as the tour has moved through its 2026 dates.
Setlist records back that up. A September 13, 2026 show at the Choctaw Grand Theater in Durant, Oklahoma, placed “I Remember You” at number 12 and “Youth Gone Wild” at number 14. A September 5 stop at the Alaska State Fair in Palmer, Alaska, followed a similar pattern.
The touring lineup has also taken shape around Bach. Twisted Sister revealed its first batch of 2026 dates with Bach in April, starting with a September 4 show in Palmer, Alaska, followed by September 12 in Durant, Oklahoma, and an October 8 date. The run was later expanded with additional fall shows.
Bach has described the gig in warm terms. The former Skid Row frontman is fronting Twisted Sister on the road this year after Snider stepped down for health reasons, a lineup swap landing squarely in the band’s 50th-anniversary year.
