Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta said he has already written an abundance of lyrics for future albums. Speaking on BLKIIBLK, he explained the band’s plans to balance touring their current record with work on new material.
Jasta described the current album as the first part of a trilogy and discussed how the band intends to complete the story across multiple releases. He also addressed why some songs did not make it onto the present record.
“We’ll probably, when we get back from this European tour coming up, we’ll probably work on new music,” Jasta said. “And it’s not to say that we’re overlooking this record at all because this record is taking us all over the world.”
“So we’re trying to figure out how to do the world tour but then also have material, so this way we complete the story because it feels to me, it feels like a trilogy, and this is part one of the trilogy.”
On the subject of unreleased material, he added: “I don’t like to answer that exactly because songs that didn’t make it on there, it’s not that they didn’t make it on because they weren’t worthy of making it on. It’s just that it might not have been the right timing for it.”
“But since this record has been completed, I have lyrics for an insane amount of songs.”
The comments came as Hatebreed prepare for an extensive European tour while continuing to promote their current album worldwide. The band is working to develop a long-term strategy for releasing new albums that extends the narrative across multiple projects.
Hatebreed’s ninth studio album, “Fatal Paradox,” will arrive on November 6, 2026, through BLKIIBLK Records and was produced by longtime collaborator Chris “Zeuss” Harris. This marked the band’s first new album in six years following 2020’s “Weight of the False Self.” The album’s lead track is “Kill Count Increase,” which Jasta described as representing the start of the new era after such a long gap between releases.
The band underwent a significant lineup change in late 2024 when founding bassist Chris Beattie exited the group after a 30-year run. Beattie left Hatebreed on November 13, 2024. Matt Bachand, formerly of Shadows Fall, stepped in to replace him and has been part of the band since then.
The East Coast Assault On Europe Tour is scheduled to begin in November 2026, featuring Hatebreed alongside alternative metallers Life of Agony. This tour will give Jasta and the band the chance to take “Fatal Paradox” around the world while they work on the next chapter of their trilogy concept.
