Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider recently sparked a playful social media feud with Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx, teasing him over an old book quote about curly-haired singers, as seen on X.
The exchange began when Snider pointed out Sixx’s past claim that singers with curly hair cannot rock, listing several legendary vocalists to dispute the statement.
“Nikki Sixx once said in a book that singers with curly hair can’t rock (Except Ian Hunter)?!” Snider wrote. “I think that Marc Bolan, Dee Snider, Robert Plant and Roger Daltrey beg to disagree! LOL!”
Snider then brought up late Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell to further challenge Sixx’s old assertion.
“How about that curly head singer, Chris Cornell, Nikki,” Snider continued. “He definitely couldn’t rock. Couldn’t sing either! AHAHAHAHA! Sorry brother, that printed statement was insanely offensive and stupid.”
Snider concluded his playful teasing by calling on other curly-haired musicians to join in.
“Will Nikki Sixx ever be able to show his face in public again!” Snider added. “Sorry Nikki, this is just too much fun! CURLY HEADED SINGERS OF THE WORLD UNITE!”
In response to the posts, Sixx kept his reply brief, posting a single middle finger emoji. This lighthearted back-and-forth highlights the ongoing friendly banter between the two veteran rock musicians.
