Late Black Sabbath legend Ozzy Osbourne’s son Jack Osbourne talked about how he felt his late father’s presence in the days, weeks and months following the iconic rocker’s death.

Speaking on Good Night with Ben Gleib, Jack Osbourne recalled: “I was on a shoot, I had to go down to Mexico. … It was a hellacious travel day and I woke up and I’m in a pissed off mood. I end up getting to the airport and I’m just in my head having one of those real negative, like sh*tty just whatever moments. And I got my backpack on, headphones marching through this airport and someone comes running up next to me and bumps me.”

“At which point, I’m like, ‘The f*ck?’ And I look up and this guy runs off. He was clearly late for a flight and he’s wearing a Black Sabbath patch on the back of his vest. I’m like, ‘OK, message heard.'”

“I’m in the back of the plane. I’m sat there. I just want to get home to see my kids. And then I take my headphone[s] out because they’re making the announcement. I’m like, just making sure I’m on the right plane.”

“All of a sudden, I hear my dad’s music playing. And I look over to my right and there must’ve been this 65-70 year old Mexican cowboy dude sat there, just watching one of my dad’s music videos. I’m just kind of like, ‘What the f*ck?’ OK, message heard. Message heard.”

Jack’s recollections came as he continued to reflect on Ozzy’s final weeks, his last public performance and the legacy he left behind.

Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76. He performed his final concert at Birmingham’s Villa Park on July 5, when he reunited with Black Sabbath for a four-song set.

Jack also recalled the emotional atmosphere surrounding that farewell performance. He hugged his father backstage before the show and said, “Before he went onstage, I ran back into the dressing room and I just gave him a big hug. I just kissed him.”

In a tribute shared after Ozzy’s death, Jack highlighted the amount of time they had together. He wrote, “I got 14,501 days with that man and I know that is such a blessing,” adding, “That was my dad. He lived and he lived his life fully.”

Jack has also said that Ozzy’s final morning was peaceful rather than dramatic. He said his father “was up, going about his thing, had some breakfast, and that was it.”

Ozzy’s final months also included filming for a BBC documentary. The project was initially intended to document his return home with Sharon Osbourne and is now expected to serve as a record of the heavy metal icon’s final chapter.
