Mötley Crüe’s Nikki Sixx recently shared a rare update on his collaboration with Cinderella’s Fred Coury in a post on Facebook.
Sixx detailed their recent meeting in Phoenix, where they discussed the music they are writing for upcoming animated series.
“My good buddy and ridiculously talented Fred Coury came out to visit me here in Phoenix,” Sixx said. “A little dinner, a lot of laughs, and somehow we ended up talking about all the music we’re writing for a few animated series I’m developing.”
Sixx also joked about their inability to meet without working on music.
“Apparently we don’t know how to just have dinner,” he added. “Been friends forever… and still creating trouble together.”
The project, titled Rock Band vs. Alien Invasion, is a teenage rock ‘n’ roll adventure co-created with Sixx and attached to director Rob Minkoff through Myth Studio.
Coury previously shared details about the collaboration, which has been in development for about four years.
“Well, I am working on a project that we are doing,” Coury said. “I can say because it is public knowledge. So, Nikki, me, and Rob Minkoff, who directed The Lion King, are working on something we’ve been doing for the last four years. And so that’s going well.”
Minkoff is best known for directing The Lion King (1994), along with later films such as Stuart Little and The Haunted Mansion, bringing a strong animation pedigree to the series.
Fans can expect more updates as the animated series progress.
