Metallica has announced their first immersive concert film experience in collaboration with Apple Music. The announcement appeared on Apple Music’s Instagram. The groundbreaking virtual concert experience will be exclusively available on Apple’s latest device, the Vision Pro.
“Watch Metallica’s first immersive concert film, only on Apple Vision Pro starting March 14th,” the band announced in their official statement.
This innovative partnership marks a significant milestone in mixed-reality technology. Fans will experience live performances in an unprecedented way.
Advanced Filming Technology

AppleInsider reveals that the filming took place during Metallica’s M72 World Tour in Mexico City. The production team utilized 14 Apple Immersive Video cameras for the capture.
The technical setup featured multiple camera systems working in concert. These included stabilized units, cable-suspended cameras, and remote-controlled dolly systems. Together, they deliver high-resolution 180-degree video with Spatial Audio technology.
