Alicia Dove recently addressed Reddit users’ claims about Corey Taylor’s relationship with his daughters on X.
In a Reddit discussion about whether Taylor was estranged from his eldest and youngest daughters, one user wrote, “He did have a daughter with his ex, Stephanie. She was born not long before he and her split, but I really wouldn’t put it past Corey to have already been far deep into Alicia before the separation. Everything happened in 2017, and I can’t find a timeline, but coincidentally it was also the first year Slipknot toured with Cherry Bombs.”
Dove shared a screenshot of the conversation and responded, “…as we just texted first daughter mentioned and saw her at Knotfest Iowa, and I took second daughter mentioned to school two days ago… God, some of you are f*cking stupid. Unless it’s from the source, never believe what you read on the internet.”
She added, “Also, as much as caity [the comment’s owner] thinks she is ‘in’ our lives, she needs to understand people like her were not privy to when they split, or when he and I started dating unless we said it. I believe he did an IG post about that when we became public so go do your research girl.”
Corey Taylor had daughter Angeline from an earlier relationship. A son named Griffin with his first wife Scarlett and a daughter named Ryan from his second marriage to Stephanie Luby were born years later.
The singer mentioned his bond with all three in a 2022 interview on ‘Mayim Bialik’s Breakdown.’ He noted having Angeline when he was young and struggling with addiction: “It wasn’t until the first time I got sober that I really was able to be in her life. So, I didn’t come into her life until she was about 11. And even though we have so much in common, and we look exactly the same, which I keep apologizing to her; I’m, like, ‘I’m so sorry.’”
“I was her father but I wasn’t her dad, and I have all the respect in the world for her stepfather. You try to develop the best relationship you can. And it’s been up and down over the years. Right now it’s down. But at the same time, you have that love, and that love is always gonna be there.”
Taylor’s relationship with his 9-year-old daughter Ryan and 21-year-old son Griffin is reportedly in a better place. Griffin, who is also a musician, currently plays in the nu metal band Vended, which his father fully supports.
