The new Linkin Park singer Emily Armstrong has been facing backlash for supporting the actor Danny Masterson. Even with the backlash, however, Chester Bennington’s widow Talinda Bennington sides with the singer.

Talinda recently commented on Armstrong’s new Instagram post. “I’m so beyond excited for this next chapter!! The love and support does not go unnoticed. See you all soon,” Armstrong wrote in the caption. Talinda commented fire emojis.

Talinda has supported the new singer ever since it was announced that she joined the band. She commented with a heart and a fire emoji on one of her previous posts. Not only that, but she also shared the news on her Instagram story, making it clear that she approves of the band’s choice of a new singer.

After the Danny Masterson issue came up, Armstrong faced backlash for her past connections with the Church of Scientology and her support for the convicted rapist and actor. On September 6, Armstrong finally responded to the criticism.

“Several years ago, I was asked to support someone I considered a friend at a court appearance, and went to one early hearing as an observer. Soon after, I realized I shouldn’t have. I always try to see the good in people, and I misjudged him. I have never spoken with him since. Unimaginable details emerged and he was later found guilty. To say it as clearly as possible: I do not condone abuse or violence against women, and I empathize with the victims of these crimes,” she ended her statement.

This still didn’t convince the fans. “‘Asked to support a friend’ so you heard he was being charged with multiple rapes and you thought, oh let me go and support him? No thanks. Hard pass,” a user wrote under her previous post. “Are you still a Scientologist? A lot of fans are asking for a statement on this,” another added.

Still, she received many positive reactions both from fans and different rockers.

Linkin Park is getting ready to release a new album. They revealed the news along with a new single called ‘The Emptiness Machine,’ their first new music in seven years. The single will be the lead track on their album, ‘From Zero,’ and it is set to release on November 15 via Warner Records.
