Aerosmith recently announced their live return to the stage at the Hollywood Bowl, with Sammy Hagar, Tom Morello, and Alice in Chains members joining the lineup, as shared on Instagram.
The band shared details about the upcoming shows and ticket sales in their official announcement.
“California, Dream On. AEROSMITH & FRIENDS, Two Nights Only at the Hollywood Bowl,” Aerosmith announced. “Tickets to these two historic nights go on sale Saturday, October 10 at 10 AM PDT.”
Sammy Hagar also expressed his excitement about being invited to perform at the historic event, noting his long-standing connection to the band.
“It’s an honor to be invited to be part of this historical event,” Hagar said. “Montrose, my first band, started about the same era as Aerosmith and I’ve always felt close to them and their music. Coming off the birthday bash, I’ll be frigging ready. This is gonna be fun!”
The two-night event, scheduled for October 29 and November 1, 2026, will also feature performances by The Black Crowes, Run DMC, Heart, and many others.
The announcement carries extra weight for Aerosmith, since these dates mark the band’s return to the stage after a lengthy absence from live performance.
The Hollywood Bowl shows arrive two years after the band said it was retiring from touring because of frontman Steven Tyler’s vocal injury. The group’s “Peace Out” farewell tour had been halted after only three shows when Tyler fractured his larynx in September 2023, an injury that ultimately prevented a full touring return.
The band’s 2024 retirement announcement made the difficulty of that decision clear, stating that “a full recovery from his vocal injury is not possible” and describing the move as “heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary.” The new Hollywood Bowl dates therefore represent something closer to a live comeback than a reinstated tour.
Run-DMC’s presence on the bill also ties the event directly to one of Aerosmith’s defining career milestones. The rap group famously collaborated with Aerosmith on the 1986 version of “Walk This Way,” one of the most significant rock-rap crossovers in pop history, making their participation more than a simple guest appearance.
Hagar’s involvement fits the same multi-artist, celebration-style format he has favored in recent years. Hagar was among the featured guests alongside Tom Morello, Jerry Cantrell and Mike Inez of Alice in Chains, Slash, Duff McKagan, Billy Idol, The Black Crowes, and Heart, while he was also widely covered during the same period for his recent birthday bash concert events.
