System of a Down bassist Shavo Odadjian shared a memorable stage incident in a recent interview with Kerrang!. An attempt to greet his grandfather during KROQ’s Almost Acoustic Christmas event led to an unexpected fall.

“I’m full of those! One time we were doing the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas and I’d drank a lot,” Odadjian recalled. “My family was there and I noticed my grandpa. As I was saying ‘Hello, gramps!’ I walked offstage – as in, I ate it! I walked like there was a floor, but there was no floor. I fell a good five or six feet with my guitar!”

The candid revelation emerged during a broader discussion about his memorable moments with System of a Down. Live performances often bring unexpected situations to light.
