W.A.S.P. frontman Blackie Lawless shared a message to people who think living in the United States is not the best in the world and explained why he believes they are wrong by pointing to conditions in other countries.

Speaking on Whiplash by Full Metal Jackie, Lawless said, “Allow me to do a commercial for just a minute here. Anybody living in the United States that thinks that it is not the best in the world, you need your head examined.”

“You need to go to some of these other places to see what they don’t have,” the singer continued. “Yes, they have complete healthcare, but it takes three months to get to somebody. And I’m not joking. I mean, it is primitive, to say the least. What they don’t get is criminal.”

“And to compare, or try to compare, the United States to what you don’t see in other places is a joke,” Lawless added. “I mean, anybody here, you come across this border, I don’t care who you are, you’re gonna get taken care of, and you’re gonna get taken care of pretty quickly.”

Lawless has spent more than four decades as one of the most recognizable figures in American heavy metal. W.A.S.P. formed in Los Angeles in 1982 after emerging from the citys early heavy metal scene.

The band became associated with a provocative image and theatrical live performances. W.A.S.P. was one of the groups that gained notoriety through its shock-rock presentation during the 1980s.

Lawless’s career began before W.A.S.P. achieved international success. He has been a formidable force in the rock world since his early days prowling the Sunset Strip in the late 1970s.

That history has established Lawless as both the leader of W.A.S.P. and a longtime commentator on American culture. His latest remarks continue the outspoken approach that has defined his public image throughout the bands career.
