“I guarantee you we’re never gonna tour because that’s what we said we wouldn’t do,” King stated. “We’re never gonna record again, because I have another outlet to do that and it’s new.”

“As I told the guys during this run, it’s new for me,” he continued. “It’s teenage King getting to go out and experience things with new people in new ways. Even though I’ve done it for 40 years, now I’m with different dudes and different music. Aside from some of the small dressing rooms, it’s starting over and fun.”

Hit Channel reports that Slayer headlined Riot Fest during their 2024 reunion. Their scheduled performance at Louder Than Life was canceled due to weather conditions.

The reunion shows served as a special exception to the band’s retirement plans. No additional performances are planned beyond these special appearances.

Metal Injection confirms Slayer’s last pre-reunion performance took place at the Forum in Los Angeles on November 30, 2019. This show was initially planned as their final farewell.

The band members explored different musical directions and personal projects during the five-year gap between their farewell show and the 2024 reunion.

Metal Injection reports that King now focuses entirely on his solo project. This new venture represents the next chapter in his musical career.

His transition signifies a definitive shift from Slayer’s legacy. King now embraces new collaborations with different musicians while exploring fresh creative territories.
