Nita Strauss Names In Flames As Her Most Influential Band

Nita Strauss has revealed her deep connection to Swedish metal in a recent interview with Guitar World. The guitarist, recognized for her work with Alice Cooper and solo career, discussed melodic death metal’s significant impact on her musical development.

“The next riff is by a band that I consider to be my Beatles, and that is Sweden’s own In Flames,” Strauss revealed. “In Flames is, you know, the band that I always list as my favorite band.”

“When I was growing up getting into heavy music, I was always really drawn by these sort of inversions and chords that the Swedish melodic death metal bands use,” she continued, “and this is a song called ‘Bullet Ride.'”

The discussion occurred during a demonstration of influential riffs. Her admiration for In Flames has materialized through recent professional collaborations and achievements.

Blabbermouth reports that Strauss collaborated with In Flames vocalist Anders Fridén on her latest album ‘The Call of the Void’ in July 2023.

The collaboration featured on the track ‘Golden Trail.’ This partnership marked a significant milestone as Strauss worked with members of her most influential band.

Live Nation confirms Strauss’s participation in the ‘Apocalyptica Plays Metallica Vol. 2 Tour’ for 2025. The tour started on February 6 in Washington, D.C. and ends on March 8 in Houston.

This tour adds another achievement to her career. She has performed with various acts across both metal and mainstream music scenes.

Kerrang highlights Strauss’s versatility as a musician. She worked with Alice Cooper from 2014 to 2022 before joining Demi Lovato’s band in 2022.

Her solo career continues to thrive alongside these collaborations. Her debut album ‘Controlled Chaos’ earned critical acclaim. Her single ‘Dead Inside’ topped Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart, establishing her position in modern metal.
