Infant Annihilator is a popular extreme metal band, but they have never gone on tour or played live shows. Fans wonder why they don’t perform on stage like other bands. Let’s learn why Infant Annihilator does not tour or play live shows.

There Are Technical Limitations and Production Choices

According to It Djents, Hysteria Magazine described the British deathcore outfit as an “Internet band.” They seem as a studio project despite occasional hints at potential touring possibilities. The main reason is that their music is very complex and hard to play live. Also, the band was created as a studio project, and they prefer to record music instead of touring.

The band’s approach to music creation presents challenges for live shows. Ultimate Guitar reports that Infant Annihilator’s compositions heavily rely on post-production techniques, including MIDI-drums and processed vocals and guitars. Their three-album catalog has complex arrangements. These would be nearly impossible to recreate live with their current lineup.

Another Issue is Drums

A central obstacle to live performances lies in the band’s drum programming. The percussion parts feature speeds and combinations that stretch beyond human capability. These “inhumane drum parts” are a signature element of their sound. However, they’re also quite hard to play on stage live.

Infant Annihilator Relies On Internet

Hysteria Magazine attributes the band’s success largely to their strong online presence and viral popularity. This helped them maintain a fanbase without traditional live performances.

Metal Archives notes that critics pointed out the mechanical nature of their sound. The band’s approach to composition and recording prioritizes technical complexity over live reproducibility. This suggests their status as a studio project will likely continue.
