Nothing More has established itself as a prominent force in the modern rock scene through years of evolution and dedication. According to Punktastic, the current lineup includes frontman Jonny Hawkins, bassist Daniel Oliver, guitarist Mark Vollelunga, and drummer Paul O’Brien.

A significant controversy emerged surrounding frontman Jonny Hawkins in December 2021. Loudwire reported that Hawkins faced legal consequences following an incident with his ex-girlfriend.

An argument inside his truck escalated when the woman was pushed outside the vehicle. She sustained serious injuries, including a collapsed lung and broken spinal bones, as the truck ran over her body. Hawkins left the scene after the incident.

Legal Consequences And Resolution

The legal proceedings ended with Hawkins pleading guilty to a vehicular negligent injury charge. The woman later testified that the incident was accidental. The court sentenced Hawkins to one year of active probation and additional financial obligations.

The incident’s repercussions extended beyond personal consequences. Consequence reported that Nothing More withdrew from a planned tour supporting Godsmack and Staind.

Hawkins addressed the public reaction by stating, “So many people just will read a headline or whatever, and then the damage is done. That’s all it takes, they just move on with their life. There’s too much going on, they don’t have time to look into it to see what’s actually true or not.”

This incident created a turning point for both Hawkins and the band.

Legal Case Details

Loudwire reported that authorities initially charged Hawkins with attempted aggravated battery with a motor vehicle. He later pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of vehicular negligent injuring. His sentence included three days in jail, one year of active probation, and 40 hours of community service.

The case resolution highlighted the complexity of the situation and the legal system’s approach.

Band’s Official Response

MetalSucks covered the collective statement from band members Mark, Daniel, and Ben supporting Hawkins. They emphasized that they had never witnessed violent behavior from Hawkins in his relationships.

The band members confirmed their continued support of Hawkins for over a year and a half. They acknowledged his efforts to make amends after the incident.

Post-Incident Activities

Consequence reported Nothing More’s decision to withdraw from their scheduled tour with Godsmack and Staind. The band needed time to address personal matters. They announced plans to resume touring in September of the same year.

This period demonstrated the band’s commitment to handling serious personal matters while maintaining professional responsibilities.
