Johan Liiva, Arch Enemy’s original vocalist, recently responded to rumors that he might return to the band after Alissa White-Gluz’s departure. He addressed the speculation in a Facebook post.

When a fan directly asked, “You going back, bro?” Liiva made his stance clear. “No, I am not,” Liiva said. “I am just as surprised as all of you. I think Alissa was perfect for AE. The mystery goes on.”

With that statement, Liiva effectively ended any discussion about him rejoining Arch Enemy amid the band’s recent lineup changes.

On November 23, 2025, Arch Enemy announced that they had parted ways with Alissa White-Gluz after roughly 12 years together. This news came only about a week after the band wrapped up their European Blood Dynasty 2025 tour, as noted by Loudwire.

White-Gluz joined Arch Enemy in 2014, replacing founding vocalist Angela Gossow, who shifted her focus to management. Over her 12-year tenure, she became one of the genre’s most recognizable voices, contributing to multiple albums and touring extensively, helping define a major chapter of the band’s history.

According to Metal Insider, the band did not provide a specific reason for the split. Reflecting on her departure, White-Gluz shared a message with fans: “After 12 years in Arch Enemy, we have parted ways. I am forever thankful to the thousands of amazing fans I have met along the way. Thank you, Beastlings! I can’t wait to share what I have been working on with you all (with some big surprises in store). Stay tuned for big news in 2026 and see you very soon.”

Just hours after the announcement, she launched her solo career by releasing her first single, “The Room Where She Died.” As reported by The PRP, the release indicates she had been developing solo material even before leaving the band. She has also teased a forthcoming solo album, with additional updates expected in 2026.
