Slash Confirms Guns N’ Roses New Album Coming Soon

Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash has reiterated that the band is actively working on new music. He compared the current creative momentum to the prolific “Use Your Illusion” era. In a recent statement, Slash explained that while the album release remains uncertain, the band is making significant progress in the studio. “It’s gonna happen. I just don’t know when. It’s getting closer and closer — we were in the studio recently. It’s just a matter of when it happens,” Slash said. He added that the creative process mirrors the intensity of the early 1990s when the band produced back-to-back masterpieces.

The guitarist drew parallels to how the “Use Your Illusion” albums came together. He noted that periods of apparent inactivity often precede sudden bursts of creative energy. “It was like that with the Use Your Illusion albums — nothing was going on, and then all of a sudden we just locked in and did it, and everything moves really quickly. That time is coming with Guns pretty soon, so it will happen. I’d be lying,” Slash explained. This suggests that fans should expect a similar pattern with the forthcoming release.

This confirmation comes as Guns N’ Roses continues to build anticipation around their creative future. The band has been gradually releasing new material in recent years, signaling a shift toward completing a full-length studio album. Since reuniting in 2016, the legendary rock band has released several new tracks. Their last full-length release was “Chinese Democracy” in 2008, nearly two decades ago.

The band’s recent activity demonstrates a serious commitment to new music production. In December 2025, Guns N’ Roses unveiled two fresh singles titled “Nothin'” and “Atlas.” These marked their first new studio releases since 2023 when they dropped “The General” and “Perhaps.” These singles represent the band’s most recent effort to reconnect with fans while working toward a larger project. The strategic release of these tracks has fueled speculation that a complete album announcement may be forthcoming, though the band has not yet provided an official timeline.

Slash has indicated that the band possesses substantial recorded material and continues to write extensively. The guitarist has emphasized that the primary challenge lies not in creating new music but in the logistical and creative process of assembling these recordings into a cohesive album. With a massive world tour scheduled for 2026, the band appears positioned to potentially unveil new material to audiences globally. Any album release date remains speculative at this stage. The combination of recent singles, studio activity, and Slash’s increasingly confident statements suggests that Guns N’ Roses fans may finally be approaching the moment when a new full-length album becomes reality after nearly two decades of anticipation.
