Dave Mustaine has revealed that Megadeth still have at least two unreleased songs left over from the sessions for the band’s final album.

Speaking in a new interview with Metal Hammer, Mustaine named “Bloodlust” and “Farewell My Love” as tracks that did not make the final record. He also mentioned a possible third song called **“When Robots Rule,”** although he admitted he was not completely sure about that title.

“But I might be mixing things up,” Mustaine said. “That’s another byproduct of chemo and radiation called ‘chemo brain’, where you have a really hard time remembering things.”

The unreleased material comes from the sessions for Megadeth’s self-titled final album, which was released in January.

However, Mustaine said he is not especially interested in going back through unfinished material from the band’s past. “If I could play old songs, why wouldn’t I want to focus on new songs instead?”

That comment reflects the way Mustaine is approaching the final stage of Megadeth’s career. The band announced its retirement plans last year, with Mustaine explaining that he wanted Megadeth to end on its own terms rather than continue indefinitely.

At the time, he told fans: “Don’t be mad, don’t be sad, be happy for us all, come celebrate with me these next few years.”

Mustaine later revealed that his decision was also influenced by Dupuytren’s contracture, a hand condition that can cause one or more fingers to bend inward toward the palm.

He said the condition has made playing guitar increasingly difficult. “It makes it really painful to play.”

Despite that, Megadeth continued with a final album and farewell tour. The self-titled record became a major commercial milestone for the band, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard 200 — the first Megadeth studio album to do so.

For Mustaine, though, the existence of unreleased material does not necessarily mean fans will eventually hear it. Megadeth have accumulated unfinished ideas and unused tracks throughout their career, but his latest comments suggest he would rather spend his remaining creative time moving forward than revisiting old sessions.

That leaves “Bloodlust” and “Farewell My Love” as part of the band’s final recording chapter, with no clear indication yet that either song will be released. With Megadeth now in its farewell period, the focus remains on the band’s final album, remaining tour dates and the closing stretch of a career that began more than four decades ago.
