Jim Root spoke out online following Sid Wilson’s sudden departure from Slipknot after a 28-year run with the band.
The guitarist wrote a comment under a social media post regarding Wilson’s exit, asking fans to stop spreading rumors about the split.
“More to come, but please have respect and stop all the speculation. Focus on the music.”
Root shared his thoughts after Slipknot made an official statement announcing Wilson’s departure.
“Effective immediately, Slipknot will no longer be associated with Sid Wilson. We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
The band offered no official reason for the sudden lineup change. The lack of clarity led to immediate fan speculation about internal disputes, though no band member confirmed these claims.
Root’s remark did not provide details about the split, but his note that there is “more to come” points to possible updates in the future.
The announcement also raised questions after the group reportedly shared and deleted a previous post regarding the exit. Wilson later updated his Instagram bio to display the timeline of his years in the band.
Wilson became a member of Slipknot in 1997 and performed with the metal group for nearly three decades until his 2026 departure.
