Disturbed guitarist Dan Donegan has revealed that the band will perform only two live shows for the entirety of 2026. This marks a significant pullback following their extensive 25th-anniversary tour celebrating the release of their debut album “The Sickness.” The two performances will take place at the Inkcarceration Festival in Mansfield, Ohio on July 17 and at Hard Rock Live in Davie, Florida on July 25.
Donegan explained the reasoning behind the limited schedule during an Instagram live session. Band members are taking time away from the road to focus on personal and family matters. “Everybody’s taking some down time, some family time, some personal things in our lives, and finding our own ways to stay busy,” Donegan stated. The guitarist acknowledged the toll of their recent touring cycle, which concluded in Scotland in late October 2025 after an extensive European leg. “I definitely miss it. It’s been long enough. I think Scotland was our last show we did in late October last year. So definitely going through withdrawals,” he admitted, expressing his eagerness to return to performing.
The Inkcarceration Festival appearance will see Disturbed headline Friday night at the Ohio State Reformatory. This venue is historically known as the filming location for the acclaimed film “Shawshank Redemption.” The three-day festival runs July 17-19 and features a massive lineup of rock and metal acts. Limp Bizkit and Bad Omens headline other nights of the event. The Hard Rock Live show in Davie, Florida marks a return to the region after approximately two decades. The band has not performed in that area for roughly 20 years.
Donegan indicated that no announcements regarding 2027 touring plans are forthcoming at this time. The band continues internal discussions about their future direction. “Nothing to announce for ’27 just yet. We have our talks internally with management and amongst the band, but nothing that I could put out just yet. We’re still trying to get together a game plan and see where everyone’s heads are at, where we are with material, where we are with future touring,” he explained. The guitarist emphasized that the band is taking a measured approach to their career trajectory. They are focusing on completing the two scheduled performances before considering what comes next.
The limited tour schedule represents a stark contrast to the band’s activity over the previous year. During that time, they undertook an ambitious world tour to commemorate two and a half decades since the release of “The Sickness” in 2000. That album established Disturbed as a major force in heavy metal and alternative rock. The anniversary tour allowed the band to reconnect with fans across multiple continents. The decision to scale back significantly in 2026 reflects a broader trend among veteran acts to balance touring demands with personal well-being and creative development.
For fans interested in catching Disturbed during their limited 2026 appearances, both shows offer distinct experiences. The Inkcarceration Festival provides an opportunity to see the band perform alongside numerous other metal and rock acts in a festival setting. The Hard Rock Live performance offers an intimate venue experience in South Florida. Donegan’s comments suggest that these two performances will serve as a testing ground for the band’s energy and direction before they determine their path forward in the coming years.
