Former Mötley Crüe and Dead Daisies singer John Corabi has broken his silence following his departure from the Dead Daisies. He directly addressed swirling speculation about his next move in a statement posted on social media.

“So just setting the record straight. I’m not joining Quiet Riot. I’m not returning to the Crüe,” Corabi declared. He emphasized the finality of his decisions regarding both bands. He continued with a pointed clarification about the circumstances of his departure: “It was NOT a mutual decision to leave the band I was recently in.” The statement suggests that contrary to the band’s initial framing, Corabi’s exit was not voluntary but rather imposed upon him.

Despite the contentious nature of his departure, Corabi struck an optimistic tone about what lies ahead. “But I can also state that it’s a NEW opportunity, a NEW chapter, and excuse the pun. It’s a NEW DAY!!!!!” he wrote. He hinted at undisclosed plans while maintaining a forward-looking perspective.

The Dead Daisies officially announced Corabi’s departure on July 14, 2026. This marked the second time the vocalist has exited the international hard rock supergroup. The departure came after a three-year tenure with the band, during which he contributed significantly to their output and live performances. The timing of the announcement raised eyebrows within the rock community, particularly given the band’s recent activity and the apparent disconnect between the band’s statement and Corabi’s account of events.

Prior to the official announcement, tensions had been simmering beneath the surface. Corabi and bassist Michael Devin publicly expressed uncertainty about their status within the band. They revealed that they had been cut off from management communication. This lack of transparency created confusion about whether they were still active members. It set the stage for the contentious split that would follow. The disconnect between band leadership and key members suggested deeper organizational issues within the group.

Corabi’s insistence that the decision was not mutual directly contradicts the Dead Daisies’ initial statement, which claimed he had “decided to leave” the band. This discrepancy has fueled speculation about the true nature of the separation. Industry observers note that such contradictory narratives often indicate forced departures rather than amicable splits. The former Mötley Crüe frontman’s willingness to publicly dispute the band’s characterization underscores the contentious nature of the breakup.

The vocalist is channeling his energy into his solo career. He released his latest album “New Day” in April 2026. This project represents a significant creative endeavor and appears to be his primary focus moving forward. With his solo work gaining traction and new opportunities on the horizon, Corabi seems positioned to move past the Dead Daisies chapter and establish himself as a solo artist in his own right. As of mid-July 2026, the Dead Daisies have not announced an official replacement vocalist, leaving questions about the band’s future direction and lineup stability.
