“As we are closing in on the half-way point of this tour, I’m full of so many different emotions,” the guitarist wrote in the caption of her post. “These last few months have flown by faster than any I’ve ever experienced in my life. It feels like only yesterday I walked into the in-person audition for Smashing Pumpkins not even knowing my life was about to catapult in a compelling new dimension.”

She continued, “Though this experience has been an absolute dream come true, many people have arrived here only seeing the highlights of my endeavors. In fact, the majority of social media is used to showcase only our best selves, edited, photoshopped, filtered, and glamorized.”

“The truth is that it was a long, arduous road getting here,” Wong noted before explaining the hardships she went through. “I’ve experienced far more failures than successes, thousands of rejections for and handful of ‘we’ll sees,’ and even a point where I just gave up and didn’t even touch a guitar for almost three years. Hell, I even gave up on ever touring again, yet here I am.”

The musician added, “Because of your support, whether you’re a newcomer or OG supporter, I am here today. Each one of you, whether you were here for the funny videos, guitar licks, the old band endeavors, or even just for the saucy photos, each one of you has allowed my hard work be finally recognized, and for that I am forever grateful.”

“So, here’s to you all. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this happen. Let’s keep the shrednanigans alive!” Kiki lastly said.

Wong also previously shared on Instagram how joining the band was a major boost for her career. She was excited about her first stadium concert and reflected on how she almost gave up touring just a few months ago. Wong encouraged others to never give up on their dreams.
