Liam Gallagher delivered a blunt response after music author Mark Eglinton defended Oasis ticket prices in a post comparing the band with acts including Metallica and Bruce Springsteen.
In the exchange on X, Eglinton argued that demand for Oasis put their tickets in a different category from other concerts and entertainment events.
“You can’t compare Oasis ticket prices to any other band or entertainment event: Springsteen, Metallica, Toploader or Kula Shaker. Oasis are on a different stratosphere and tickets are priced accordingly. And remember- there are lots of people taking a cut aside from them.”
Gallagher responded with just two words: “Trucker music.”
The reply turned Eglinton’s defense of ticket prices into a swipe at the acts named in his post. Gallagher did not explain which artists he meant, with Eglinton’s list also including Toploader and Kula Shaker alongside Springsteen and Metallica.
Eglinton’s argument focused on both Oasis’ appeal and the people who receive a share of ticket revenue. His post suggested that comparing prices between artists overlooks differences in demand and how concert income is divided.
Gallagher, however, offered no breakdown of ticket costs or further explanation of the pricing. His brief response kept the exchange focused on his opinion of the other music rather than the financial details behind an Oasis show.
While Eglinton made the case for why Oasis tickets should cost more, Gallagher added a dismissive punchline—leaving his exact targets open to interpretation.
